Panglima Power to invest RM1.8b

PANGLIMA Power Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Powertek Berhad, is investing RM1.8 billion in its new 770 megawatt gas- fuelled power generator at its premise in Telok Gong, Malacca.
This is the third plant owned by Powertek in Malacca, in addition to another plant in Telok Gong which produces 440mw power and another 330mw- powered plant in Tanjung Kling.
Powertek's executive director Datuk Ibrahim Abu Bakar said the new plant was expected to be fully completed by 2003 and this would help increase the output to 1,490mw of electricity.
